Hex girls scooby doo8/2/2023 She also tends to show that she is tough, but on rare occasions she displays strong feelings of love and friendship towards her friends (especially the gang's Great Dane, Scooby-Doo, as shown when she kisses him on the cheek). Of the three girls, Dusk reveals herself to be the fiercest, as well as the most rebellious of the band, and does not like to speak much about herself, and compared to Thorn and Luna, Dusk does not speak much in general (this is shown, when Thorn and Luna are talking to Ben Ravencroft, as they are doing so, Dusk turns to shaggy and Scooby and shows off her fangs). Also red socks that come up to her shins and black strapped shoes.ĭusk - drummer and back-up singer. Her eyes are green (The only hex girl in Mystery Incorporated with colored eyes) She now wears a black dress with a red belt, a shirt with white puffy sleves underneath. In Scooby Doo Mystery Incorporated she still has her signature black hair with red highlights. She is shown to take a liking to the gang's Great Dane, Scooby Doo due to her looking at him cutley when he looked scared when showing him her fake vampire teeth and when Velma is offering him Scooby Snacks. Rich (the eccentric body style, in this case the outline of a bat). Her guitar shares several characteristics of models made by Dean Guitars (the "V" headstock) and B.C. She has long black hair with red highlights, teal (sometimes green) eyes, and wears a black and red dress in The Witch's Ghost, but a red and purple dress in The Legend of the Vampire. She is quite shy when not on stage, and claims that she is "1/16 Wiccan on mother's side" (although Wicca is a religion, not a hereditary biological condition). She is sultry and her voice seems to seduce audiences. Overall, absolutely fantastic and wonderfully wicked.10/10.Thorn - lead singer and guitarist. The villain is incredibly creepy while also being very cool. The reveal of which was uniquely staged and one of the show's more unexpected ones. Thorn with the Tranquilizer Gun was hilarious too and the reactions in the reveal likewise, was worried about overlong and repetitive running gags but they didn't come here thankfully. Endearingly goofy but also quite smart like when Shaggy and Scooby are in front of the audience. Furthermore, the writing is especially good in the humour, which is classic Scooby Doo. Loved the gang's increasingly individual personalities here as well. Seeing how they react to the effects of the curse was both entertaining and eerie, was very surprised to see that aggressive a side to Thorn. Not just because of their appealing personalities, which the episode relishes while showing different sides to them too, but also because of how they're used (there is plenty of screen time while not overshadowing the gang) and how they interact with the gang (in pitch perfect harmony). The Hex Girls are up there with 'Scooby Doo and Guess Who's' best guest stars. Had no issue with the voice acting and loved how the music setting was used. Even better is the very catchy new song from the Hex Girls, not quite "Hex Girl" level but fun and catchy at least. The music is dynamic and groovy, also loved the modern spin on the iconic classic theme tune for 'Scooby Doo Where are You', although it is too short. The animation has a lot of atmosphere, rich colour and even richer attention to detail, especially for the villain and at the end. Pretty much everything works here, with the one ever so minor complaint (which for me was overlookable) being that there could have been more of Dusk. One of the coolest, most entertaining and creepiest and the Hex Girls are far from wasted. On rewatch, "I Put a Hex on You" is still one of my favourite episodes, not just of Season 1 (which took a while to settle but the second half of it was very well done) but of 'Scooby Doo and Guess Who' overall. Not just meeting expectations but exceeding them far and beyond. "I Put a Hex on You" did not disappoint on first watch, for me it was actually one of the standout episodes in the best of ways. Am also a fan of the Hex Girls ever since their first appearance in one of my favourite Scooby Doo films 'Scooby Doo and the Witch's Ghost' and considering them one of the franchise's best recurring characters. Loved the premise, love anything centered around music and the Scooby Doo franchise has been enormously successful with a vast majority of its music themed episodes etc. Of all the episodes of 'Scooby Doo and Guess Who' prior to watching the show for the first time, "I Put a Hex on You" was one of the episodes this reviewer was most psyched about.
